Leave a legacy

Make a lasting impact today.

You care about the children who are at the heart of Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio’s mission. A planned gift, whether during your lifetime or in the form of a bequest, is an incredible way for you to make a lasting impact on the children we serve.

A planned gift will provide vital support for our organization as well as immediate or deferred tax benefits for you and your family. This is a meaningful way to make a more significant gift than you may have previously thought possible.

You may choose to leave your legacy through a bequest in your will, or by naming Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or retirement plan. Gifts can also be made through various types of deferred or planned gift tools.

Please consider including Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio in your estate plans, and notify us if you have already done so. We encourage you to discuss your philanthropic plans with your family, financial advisor, and/or attorney.

Ways to Make a Legacy Gift:

Sample language for adding a codicil to your will:

“I give $______ (or ____percent of my estate, or ____percent of the residue of my estate) to Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio, administrative offices located at 4111 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, OH 44055, or its successor or successors for its unrestricted use and purpose.”

Gifts of Retirement Assets: Donating part or all of your unused retirement assets such as a gift from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to make a gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio. If you designate BGCNEO as beneficiary, we will benefit from the full value of your gift because your retirement assets will not be taxed at your death.

Gifts of Insurance: Gifts of a life insurance policy is another excellent way to make a gift to BGCNEO. If you have a life insurance policy that has outlasted its original purpose, consider making a gift of your insurance policy. For example, you may have purchased a policy to provide for minor children and they are now financially independent adults.

You can help support our mission for generations to come by including us in your estate plans. If you have questions about planned giving to our organization, please reach out to Director of Individual Giving Kim Cole at kcole@bgcneo.org.
